2016 Season Wrap Up - The 2016 Scots finished with a record of 18-9 and won the MOAC Blue Division. The Scots went 12-2 in the MOAC en route to their 8th conference championship in 11 years.
We will miss the seniors Conner Ulrey, Wyatt Gresh, Jacob Fox, Andrew Stillwell, Justin Robinson, Chase Beam, Alex Wright, Shane Carmey, and Devin Schoellkopf!

2/21/16: Phase I of our 2016 season is complete! Winter Open Throw / Open Conditioning was a great success - plenty of opportunities for athletes to get better before our season begins. PHASE II - individual tryouts and team building - begins tomorrow! Road to Championships starts tomorrow!
2/1/16: Congratulations to Andrew Stillwell on his commitment to Clark State! Andrew will continue his academic and athletic careers at Clark State in Springfield. Congratulations, Andrew!!

1/4/2016 - Winter Workouts resume! Mon, Wed, Fri 6:20 AM in the HS gym; Tue & Thur 2:45 PM. Tues workouts will be held at Hitter's HQ AND the Blue Building. Thursday workouts will be held at Hitter's HQ and Friday workouts will be held at the Blue Building. Take advantage of every opportunity to get better!
12/8/15: Congratulations to Shane Carney on his commitment to Adrian College! Shane will continue his academic and baseball career at Adrian, a member of the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association.
11/5/15: THANK YOU to Todd Belcher and his crew for all of the work on the field! Over 10 tons of top soil added and the re-cutting of the infield lines has really made the field look amazing! Thank you to the seniors who worked so hard on removing sod and rebuilding the mound.

2/19/2014 - This morning we completed our winter workouts! Through all the delays and cancellations due to a very cold winter, the boys not involved in a winter sport had 46 opportunities to get better! I am proud to say that many of them took advantage of these opportunities! You can find winter attendance log under the appropriate tab!
12/9/2013 - Although it is not on the winter schedule, we WILL have open throw tomorrow morning, 12/10, since we have had to cancel last 2 due to weather. We will also have open hit tomorrow, 12/10, after school.
11/21/2013 - As the fall season concludes and the cold weather sets in, the desire for warm weather is present already and of course: BASEBALL! The 2014 Highland Fighting Scots Baseball Program will begin our Winter Program on December 3rd with our first Open Hit session. This Winter is going to very exciting as Gary Hampton is going to be leading our speed/agility training during our 6am sessions and our 3 days a week after school training is going to focus on strengthening the "Core!"
11/20/2013 - The fall season at Highland has seen multiple programs have a tremendous amount of success! Congrats to the football program on a successful 7-3 season. Congrats to the golf team on a league championship season. Congrats to the boys cross country team on a league and district championship. Lastly, a HUGE CONGRATS goes out to the Highland Fighting Scots Volleyball team. The girls had the most successful season in school history as they posted a 27-1 record, league championship, district championship, and regional runner-up!

5/8/2013 - Congrats to our 2013 Highland Baseball Program for clinching a 4th straight MOAC league championship lastnight at River Valley. Boys I am so proud of you for this accomplishment and taking advantage of the opportunities that have been placed in front of you thus far this season. 3 more league games this week and then tournament play begins on Tuesday! Let's keep it going!!!
11/6 - Today was our first day of our Volunteer Winter Workouts! Any boy that is interested in playing baseball at Highland this spring and NOT involved in a winter sport is encouraged to attend our winter workouts.
5/29 - Congrats to Jason Hertz who was named MOAC Baseball Player of the Year at our annual league banquet. This was the leagues 6th annual banquet where we received our 6th league championship trophy out of the last eight years! In addition, a Highland Baseball Student/Athlete was named Player of the Year for the 4th time out of the six years of the honor given: 2007- Gar Keen,
2010- Cole Randolph, 2011- Garrett Ulrey, 2012- Jason Hertz. Congrats Highland Baseball on another fine season! Have a great summer and see you on the field!
5/13 - Congrats to the following student/athletes for all-league and district honors: Jason Hertz - 1st Team MOAC and 1st Team Central District Pitcher DII; Cade Randolph - 1st Team MOAC and 2nd Team Central Distrct Outfielder DII; Jett Swetland - 2nd Team MOAC and Honorable Mention Central District Infielder DII; Alec Harris - Honorable Mention MOAC and Honorable Mention Central District Catcher DII.
5/9 - This evening our Blue Team, Varsity, completed their season in a tough 3-5 defeat in our semi-finalist tournament game. The team concluded with a 14-10 overall record and 9-3 in MOAC play; earning us our third straight league championship and 6th over the last 8 seasons. Good season boys! Underclassmen, use this season's ups and downs to motivate you to get better! Cade and Jason thank you for a great 4 years and good luck at the next level, you guys are awesome!
5/5 - This morning our Red Team, Junior Varsity, completed their season in our MOAC JV Tournament. Congratulations to Coach Reese and the boys for a great season! They finished with a 16-5 record and runner-up in the tournament.
4/30 - Tonight we clinched the Red Division League Championship with a 4-2 win at Buckeye Valley. Congratulations to the boys for a job well done!
As of 7am on Friday, February 17, 2012, we completed our Winter Program for student/athletes not involved in a Winter Sport! Given 80 opportunities to get better, we had 93% attendance as a whole and sophomores: Cooper Colegrove and Garrett Weikel had 100% attendance. Great work this winter boys! "Success is When Preparation Meets Opportunity!"
CONGRATULATIONS: 2012 Seniors: Jason Hertz and Cade Randolph will further their baseball career after high school as Jason has committed to Lakeland Community College and Cade has committed to Bluffton University. Congrats boys on your accomplishment! Another sign of, "Success is When Preparation Meets Opportunity!"
The boys had their first 6am conditioning this morning, 1/10! We had perfect attendance as 17 boys not involved in a winter sport showed up at 5:45am to word hard and make our program better! Our quote for the 2012 season: "Success is When Preparation Meets Opportunity!" We recently completed the month of December's volunteer workouts. After Christmas break we will continue our winter workouts as the Feburary 20th mandatory date will be here before we know it! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all!
Congrats to Garrett Ulrey who has been named as MOAC Baseball Player of the Year. This honor was voted on by the baseball coaches of the MOAC. Great Job Garrett! The MOAC has honored this award for five years and a Highland Fighting Scot has earned the award 3 out of 5 years: Gar Keen - 2007, Cole Randolph - 2010, Garrett Ulrey - 2011.

A Huge Thank You goes out to all players and parents for Sundays field day! The fencing was a large task that was completed by 50-60 people who showed up to work, eat, and have fellowship with eachother. Thank you again to all involved! The field looks great! Also, a special thank you to Highland Athletic Boosters who made it possible for the baseball and softball fields to get the new vinyl slat fencing and dugout rail padding. 4/10/11
